Vranjaš Monastery (virtual tour of Fruška Gora monasteries)
Time of construction: The monastery of St. Vasilije Ostroški was founded near the village of Manđelos, on a stretch better known as Jorgovanište. With the blessing of His Grace the Bishop of Srem, Mr. Vasilije (Vadić), in 2008, it was decided to build a monastery over the spring in Vranjaš. The conceptual solution was adopted in 2010, so that construction works would start in 2011. The founders of the temple of St. Vasilije Ostroški are Milan and Senka Milanković from Brodac (Republika Srpska).
The church is dedicated to Saint Vasilije Ostroški.
Iconostasis: The rich wood carving on the linden iconostasis partition was executed by Dragan Šaponja from Kolut, and painted by Borislav Živković.
Painting/frescoes: The temple was built of wood, and its walls and iconostasis were painted by Borislav Živković.
Today: The newly built inn contains monks’ cells, bishop’s apartment, dining room, kitchen and boiler room. It can be visited on the page of our internet portal if you visit the virtual tour of Fruška Gora monasteries.
