Karlovci manuscript

By the decision of the Holy Synod of the Serbian Orthodox Church and the blessing of His Grace the Bishop of Srem, Mr. Vasilije, is established the Treasury of the Museum of the Serbian Orthodox Church in Sremski Karlovci, which was symbolically opened in 1998, in the presence of Serbian Patriarch Pavle and other members of the Holy Synod of Bishops. It became available to the public in 1999. Artistic and religious objects, which are displayed in seven museum rooms, come from the Diocese of Srem, Dalmacija, Slavonija, Osijek, and Baranja.

In appropriate glass cases, there are also handwritten liturgical books, the most important of which is the Cvetnik (a kind of manual for young monks) from the 15th century, for which period there is a further representation of the presentation.

Monography of Diocese of Srem

In this part, the contemporary state of our monasteries, parishes and church municipalities is realistically presented, with basic data and the usual tabular overview of archiepiscopal vicarages. This is also a unique opportunity to look at today’s circumstances in this Diocese, changed by the great and joint efforts of our monastics and clergy, supported by the selfless support and love of our virtuous Orthodox people, as well as the institutions of the Serbian state and the Province of Vojvodina.
